News:

The 2004 shows are now completely up to date.

Any show you are looking for can probably be found on Soulseek, as long as you don't mind dealing with a few server issues from time to time.  I talked about Soulseek here last year and have since lost track of the number of people who have messaged me to let me know that they were part of the music sharing community there.  It's been a lot of fun trading and sharing music there for me.  I've noticed a lot more show being introduced in the last while, particularly older hard to find Smiths shows, which has been really great.  I've left my original note about Soulseek below if anyone is new to the site.  And as always, feel free to email me at the address below if you have any other questions, or if you'd like to discuss the weather, or politics, or even religion.

Soulseek is a peer to peer no spyware file sharing app that I have been using for the past 2 months or so.  All of the songs are of course MP3's and as such any CD you make will be MP3 sourced.  There has been quite a bit of argument over the source of CD's how they were made, traders stating that someone who sent then a MP3 sourced CD would be automatically put on a bad trader list and so on.   From my perspective I could care less.  I just want some new music to listen to and that's it.  I stopped trading a few years ago with the exception of a few trusted friends because I got tired of all the politics and whining that was getting involved in hobby.  2 months ago I found a trading community that put the fun back in the hobby.  So head on over to http://www.slsknet.org/ download the software and have fun.  You don't have to have a single show in your collection, just follow the little rules people have (most request that you only download one show at a time) and don't forget to say thanks once in a while, the traders are very friendly and the the chat feature excellent.  If you want to find me, I'm listed as franticsfan.  So I've said my peace about that.  No I have no stake in Soulseek whatsoever, except that more people will log in and share more music.  So I hope to see you there sometime, send me a message and let me know you read this on my web page.

And now my final words.

Have fun trading.  Enjoy the music, enjoy meeting new people.  If you are not having fun, stop... or find a new way to trade.  It's all about sharing music, don't let it get more complicated than that.     Dave Towers, 2004
